is my budgie the talkative type?

i've had my budgie for 5 days now.. he is 7 weeks old and i have spent alot of time talking to him and getting him use to my hand.. when i talk to him he sometimes moves his beak like he's trying to say something... is he infact trying? or am i getting excited over nothing?...

Are you sure your budgie is a ****? Hen birds tend to be less able talkers, and do take longer to train. That said, your bird is still very young, be patient, and he will get there. Try saying one word at a time, in a soft voice, repeated over and over until he gets it. Once he has a few words, he'll start to pick up phrases. We had a bidge when I was a child who was a fantastic talker, so patience is rewarded.

thankyou everyone who has answered me.. this is my first budgie.. i've had a rainbow lorikeet before but i didnt get him as a baby he was already talking when we got him.. my dad was out working one day and "Alex" flew onto my dads shoulder and wouldnt leave him alone so dad brought him home and he was our pet for 3 years before he died.. he was a very good talker.. i'm sure my budgie is a **** because his cere is a bluey purple colour and he isnt agressive at all.. but he is young, how long till i will know for sure?
