Bugs on chilli plant

I am trying to grow chilli plants however they seem to continually get infested with bugs. The bugs are usually on the underside of the leaf and are green (greenfly I presume?!) There is also white stuff which seems to fall off and land at the bottom of the plant.
I was told to spray it with a small amount of washing-up liquid in water which works for a while but they seem to come back again.
Any advice about what is wrong and what I need to do?

Hi there.

Your right washing up liquid does work for a while but not long enough. Try something called neem oil. You mix it in with water and a small amount of washing up liquid in a spray bottle. Other organic methods are lady birds or try to attract hoverflies using marrigolds around your chillis.

You will have to join the joes long competition.
Last years record was about 35cm

There is also pass the parcel started which you could join. Everyone adds seeds and takes others.

Good way to get yourself some new varieties for next year
