Yes, its field mice I get, I used to get them downstairs and plugged in a mains Mouse repellant, don't get any downstairs since.I guess the loft is too far away and too may walls and ceilings to go through.
I recon the could be getting in through the eves, I live in a mid terrace, there is no way I can block that up, its such a pain to get to.
I will either get the battery operated one above or a mains one and put it in the bedroom and hope that tghe noise goes into the loft, but I think the battery one is the way to go.
There is a thing called the Zapper, but that kills them,I don't want to kill them I want to deter them.
Thanks again,
Steve

There are two types of repellers. The first is ultrasonic and is localised, ie it works in the room that it's in. However, these are of limited effectivity and the sound can be blocked by furniture etc.
The second and more expensive type plugs into the mains and sends an oscillating signal through the cabling. These are very effective as the mice find the signal disturbing and it discourages them from nesting in the cabling, which they tend to do.
I had a mouse problem and used the ultrasonic devices with limited results. When I switched to the latter (I got one that has an ultrasonic sender too) the problem was sorted in about a week.
You may not have mains in the loft but there may be cabling there and if so, the device will keep them away from it. But the most important thing is that it prevents them from setting up a nest, and they will avoid your house. Good luck!
