Calming plug-in device for pets

Hi - I have heard there is a plug-in that you can get (similar to the air-freshener things) that will have a calming effect on pets. I have two cats that run riot occasionally and scag my new furniture. Does anyone know what these are and where to get them?

I had some from the vet, for my dog, I'm not sure if there's one for cats, the contents are called 'phermerones', and it gives the security felt by the pet when they are very young and with their mother ,supposedly. However it seemed to work for my dog for a short period, but the effect soon wore off, and then I found that it didn't seem to be working at all.

Yes there is one for cats, its called feli-way, (i think thats the right name) and you should be able to buy them in your local pet shop, im trying to find any articles in my cat mag so can point you in right direction.

Feliway is especially for cats, and recommended for times such as Fireworks Nights. It comes in a spray diffuser, similar to a perfume spray, but of course larger. It is intended to spray around the rooms used by the cats at the level of the cats head, i.e. chair and table legs, edges of doors and door frames etc, it also doesn't stain or damage soft furnishings. It works very well, but it expensive at about �22, but it does last a long time. It is also very useful for spraying into the corners of cat travelling baskets, (a few minutes before the cat is popped in), particularly for nervous cats, or those who don't like going to the vets.

its much cheaper to buy feliway on the internet than from your vets (they mark it up a lot). The plug ins will be best for the home, the spray is better for car journeys etc. (the plug ins last about a month, dependent on the size of your home will depend on how many you need)
