My dog has a punctured lung and we have a few days to decide whether or not he has chest surgery. He is a standard poodle, 9 years and 9 months old, and is otherwise strong and well. Eight years ago, he had spinal surgery which left him with a limp but he made a wonderful recovery and he is a tough dog. He is settled and fairly comfortable in the veterinary hospital and we are happy with everything there. Do we put him through another very big operation and give him a chance to have a normal life afterwards (providing no other complications found - we know the variations) or do we leave him in peace and let him go - will not happen naturally. Has anyone out there been in this situation with their pet ?
