Uranus is a lot bigger than most people think. It's much bigger than most other heavenly bodies.

Uranus is impossible for man to reach. But a probe has been there.

Uranus has been extensively photographed.

Uranus does not radiate heat, so it might be very cold inside. Nobody knows for sure.

Uranus is surrounded by gas.

Does it need cleaning?
Am I correct in thinking there is a massive black hole located dead center of Uranus?
Is it smooth...................or lumpy and bumpy?
Question Author
I think the gas must make is smooth around the outside.
NASA investigated Uranus in 1986.
Question Author
I hope you're wrong about the Black Hole, snagged.

That sounds too close for comfort.
Question Author
Wonder if that was when NASA sent up the probe ?
I wonder when man will first step foot on Uranus...
I don't remember a probing in 1986, but then I was only 4 so that's hardly surprising.

Maybe some other more mature ABers might remember being probed in the late 80s.

For info, the centre of uranus is very hard and rocky, which might surprise some people.
Question Author
That is surprising, Nat.

So it's not full of hot, runny matter (like the Earth, say).
don't know much about it,
but i did hear that captain kirk went round it and got rid of all the klingons.
No, it's not hot and runny, in fact outside the hard area, is an icy area and surroundign that is much gas. You might even say that uranus is not very welcoming atall.
As a kid, I had a model of Uranus hanging from my ceiling...
does it have a gravitational pull, ?
You spent your childhood looking at uranus snagged?
Not all of it ;-)
I'm pleased to hear that :-)
Actually, I still have it... dya wanna hold it?
Question Author
It certainly sounds inhospitable.

So snagged would be lying in bed in the semi darkness ... look up, and there ... dangling above his head ...

... Uranus.
