Its bad for the frog.
And for the dog if its a poisonous arrow frog
Not bad, just natural.
Depends... was it in self defence?
Many toads produce a toxin from glands in the skin, so dogs get a most unpleasant taste, and with some species worse effects. The UK common toad just tastes awful, and a dog will foam at the mouth and be distressed. UK frogs don't have the same effect. In the UK, common frog, common toad and the two common newts are protected only from unlicensed sale. The common reptiles are protected also from death and injury. So if you allowed your dog to harm a reptile, that would be an offence, but not for those common amphibians, unless you then sold the bits. The rarer UK species of both amphibians and reptiles are protected very much more strongly.
My dog Meg was busy investigating a frog whilst we were out walking the other day. The frog suddently jumped up hitting Meg on the nose and she ran away and wouldn't stop shaking. So perhaps the question should have been 'If a frog attacks a dog, is that bad?'
My cat catches them, well kind of... he pats them, makes them squeal and leap, chases it to where it lands, pats it, makes it squeal and leap, and so on .... he's there for ages until you rescue the poor frog by bringing my cat in!
