my friend has a cat who has developed diabetes. the vet has told her that her cat will need daily insulin. she has tried to find out if the insurance covers this, but not had a lot of luck with her insurance company who have been very negative.

does anyone know, or does anyone know of any help towards the cost as the vet has been very vague about the cost of the insulin.

thank you

hi we had a cat on insulin injections twice a day till july the insulin costs 45 a bottle and the vet said will last 2 months if always kept in the fridge the needles i bought on line and cost 12 for a hundred they can only be used once then need to be discarded my vets supplied me with a sharps bin and changed it once full
The insurnace should cover it, but it depends on the provider how long they will cover it for.

It is hard to provide an estimate of the cost of insulin because every animal needs a different amount of units daily, and until the cat is stabilised they won't know what level that will be.
