feeding an abondonend pup

i have a 3 week old puppy whose mother refuse,s to feed i have bottle fed him with baby milk but not sure how much and how often too do this ?

Ask a vet. Failing that ring the blue cross, they'll tell you. It depends on weight and breed, but you're better off asking an expert.

How long has the mother been refusing to feed him? Is he an only puppy, and does she have milk? Has she been checked for mastitis or eclampsia? Is she still cleaning puppy after he has been fed?
At three weeks you could start to wean him off the milk from a bottle (although a puppy milk substitute like lactol or lamlac would be better) and you can start to introduce a puppy porridge or well soaked complete puppy food, plus a small amount of finely minced beef. The pup should be held so it can put its nose into the porridge and it should start to lap. It can then be allowed to feed from a shallow bowl, probably wading through it at first. Gradually lessen the amount of liquid and increase the meat and complete food. At three to four weeks they need feeding four times a day, by six weeks three times a day would be fine, then at twelve weeks to twice a day. The amount depends on how much the pup clears up within about ten minutes. If it clears up straight away give it more next time, if it leaves some give less.

Some more info would help, but the above is a basic guide.
Pup will also need worming, every couple of weeks till three months, then once a month till six months, use a liquid or paste you can get from the pet shop. Also do mum, and other pups if there are any.

You will need to wipe his botty bits gently with a warm, damp flannel after he has been fed which will make him go to the toilet, otherwise he will be getting blocked up. If mum will lick him clean this is much better (for both of you!).

Cut tips off nails as they will be very sharp (could be one of the reasons she is not feeding him).
