my sons scorpian escaped last night. cannot find him. is there another we can do to entise him out of his hidy hole

If she/he has got outside, I'm afraid it will not survive , far too cold for it.Should you feed it on life food, why not try putting the live food in a see through container, your scorpion might be attracted by the movement, then you can catch it.Good luck ,g,

I think they glow in UV light so you could try that though I wouldn't fancy walking round it the dark like that trying to find it especially as it's likely to have crawled and hid under something.

If this is not a windup, scorpions easily fast for weeks so not a lot will entice it out of its hiding place if it feels safe. Look in/behind/under shoes, ornaments, pot plants or anything on the ground where it could be hiding. If it was a little one and you have a mouse hole, you may not see it again.
Think like a scorpion.

If its in a hole, spray with insecticide or fill with diluted bleach. It will be hidden in damp, cool dark place. Shake out boots/shoes/clothes etc. Block holes with parcel tape or filler. Jeyes fluid will kill it but the fumes will be harmful if inhaled by you & family.

Release a terantula......that'll find it!

Seriously - I'll go with Jenna on this. I woke up at 3a.m. and for some reason was thinking about your pet. They do glow under ultra-violet light, so if you can get hold of one, wait till night (they're nocturnal) and try searching for it. If you know which room it's in, just keep the door shut till you find it. I don't agree with terambulan, as most scorpions sold as pets are relatively harmless to humans and anyway, if it was a contest between a scorpion and a tarantula, it'd be 50/50 as to who would win! Good luck and I hope you find the little guy.

Just heard about a dog belonging to a friend in Turkey. Its leg swelled up and the vet said it had been bitten by a scorpion, sadly it died.

Oh, what a shame (to both the previous additions). Sad about the dog, although they are more prone to things like scorpion stings and snake bites than humans are. Shame you haven't found the little critter yet, bumblebee.
