Yes,I suppose you could say it is.
A Male cats penis ia barbed,and therefore is painful when withdrawn after sex.
However,this barbing and the pain it produces is necessary to cause the female to ovulate.

I also read once that as a female cat does not ovulate until she copulates she is almost guaranteed to get pregnant when she has sex.

Also when a Queen mates she can become fertilised by up to 4 toms,and have kittens that bear the characteristics and colouring of those toms.
This is why some female cats produce litters with ginger,tabby & black and white kittens.
Imagine if Human Females could do this!
