My cat will be sitting quite happily on my lap, sometimes i may be stroking her but not always, i might be playing with my computer or just watching t.v. Then she'll look up at me and raise her paw to touch my face, she's not scratching me purposely it's not a strike as such. I'll push her paw away but she brings it straight back up again. What does this mean, is she just wanting my attention or does this mean something else.

dont know what it means but i have got one that does the same
When a cat catches a mouse it paws it to see it move...when the mouse moves the cat strikes at the jugular & consumes it.

If you're still the cat will paw you.......don't let the cat grow too big!
It's an attention seeking thing, especially if you are absorbed with your computer or watching tv. She's just saying hey! I'm here.
Most, but not all of my cats have done this. I have one cat at the moment who DEFINITELY does this to get my attention.
Probably telling you that you need a shave?
Awww she just loves you and wants to show you!
mine does that to wake me up in the morning....
