all the principles girls have lost their jobs, we were in the same group (Mosaic) but my company managed to find a buyer very quickly after the administration was announced on monday, but it has been awful all week not knowing if we would have a job by the end of it. i have never been in a redundency situation and it is horrible. I feel so sorry for principles girls though, they are all gutted.

I am retired now I just have a part time job in a local bakery, but even that is affected. I started work on 15 hours a week and now it's down to 4 hours which isn't really worth turning up for, but I keep hoping that things will improve.

I am a pensioner so the only problems I have personally suffered so far have been loss of interest on my savings. I can manage with this by careful budget management but must admit I do worry about my daughter and her job. Obviously I remember the last recession but this time it seems to be more devestating.
We were newlyweds in the 1980s. We weren't doing too badly until 97 when labour got in. Our fortunes seemed to go downhill from there and are only just picking up again (hopefully). We both work for our local council and although cutbacks are being made we both have the sort of skills that get us jobs in other areas - he's a manager, I'm admin and promotional.
I don't see us getting out of this recession until labour is where it belongs - out of power. They will not be happy until every green field is built on, every ounce of manufacturing is removed, every private enterprise nationalised and every individual robotised.
Brave new world?
