Is there any possible way to get AKC papers on a purebred Rott, when the owner is unknown?

Do you know the dog's kennel name or breeder, that would be how you could try, but if you don't know kennel name or breeder, you don't know what the bloodline is and therefore how do you know that it is registerable as pedigreed
Presumably the dog is not chipped?  If it was, you could perhaps trace its origin that way.  How do you know it's pure-bred?

I dont know for sure if he is purebred. I found him when he was about three months old. As far as how he looks or markings, i would think that someone lost a very good dog. He is now 10 months old and wieghs approx. 120 lbs. If you know of any other way please let me know?
