R.I.P Tansy
58 Answers
For everyone who supported Frankie, I'm very sad to say that Tansy passed over the Rainbow Bridge at 3.30pm today, aged 22 years and 39 days. She had a lovely long life, but it doesn't make that last goodbye any easier.

Schutz, Blackbird is one of my personal totems - I know whom he sings for and last night it was Tansy. (Makes sense too, if she was wont to spare their lives:-)
Waking up must have been so strange for you today, and for Frankie and Felix as well. When your cats go outside, do they stay close enough to each other to always know what the others are up to? Felix will be a little lost right now I expect, going out all alone :-(

Hi Red. You're so right, Tansy had the best of everything, even her favourite 'prawns' for tea, on her birthday. Thanks for the Hugs and Purrs from Bolly, Tatty, Rubbish, and Pepsi. I'm sure Tatty and Rubbish are anything but, I'll bet they are all four, just gorgeous. Love to all four, from Frankie and Felix, and me. including yourself of course. Much love Schutz.
madaboutcats. Hi Mary. Aren't Mr. & Mrs. Vertitas just the loveliest people, and how kind of Mr. V. to send me that poem, it was a comfort although I ended up in floods of tears, I think it acted like a release valve for the pain inside. I did'nt have a very good night, very restless, and woke up with a headache. All things pass, with a lot of help from good friends. I'll be ok soon. much love Sheila.
Hello Swedeheart. It's lovely to think the little blackbird was singing for Tansy. Yes, the cats tend to stay within sight of each other when they are out. While Frankie was so ill Felix slept quite close to Tansy, (just out of reach of her paws) too close and she'd wallop him, just to let him know that she was the boss. Frankie is still sleeping for England, it's mostly a case of eating and sleeping, to recover his strength. At the moment Frankie is asleep on the duvet on my bed, and Felix is lying on the floor alongside the bed. I wonder if he remembers that Frankie went away for a time, and now Tansy has disappeared, it looks as if Felix is guarding Frankie to make sure he doesn't disappear too. I wish I could speak 'Cat'. I hope you are well. Much love Sheila.
Schutz- Just sent you an email. Praying that angels surround you + comfort you. Tansy is in heaven. Last goodbyes are never easy, for sure, whether it be a human or an animal. Yet, our pets are part of our family anyhow. Take comfort in your friends as well as your memories of Tansy. (((((((((angel hugs))))))))
Praying for angels to be with your cats, too. Gottes Segen. Dios te bendiga. God bless you.Warm wishes, Bea :-)

Hi Swedeheart. Frankie is continuing to improve, and as I type, he's sitting on my knee, and Felix is sitting on my desk. They are never far apart, even more so in the past two days since Tansy is no longer with us. Frankie is a big ginger and white boy age three and a half, and Felix who's six, is even bigger, black with white chest and white paws, very long fluffy tail, and fur between the pads of his feet. I think there must be a bit of Norwegian Forest cat somewhere in his ancestry. It was really funny how Tansy kept the two big boys in order, as she was so tiny, and they were miles bigger than her. I think both cats are missing her as much as me and hubby. At present we have very high winds here, and it's pouring with rain. I hope it's better where you are. love Sheila.
They both sound gorgeous:-) I felt for Felix when you described how he appears to be guarding Frankie, afraid that he'll disappear too/again. Felix has been through a lot too these past few weeks, in his own kind of way. I've met a few "half-castes" (is that word P.C.?) involving Norwegian Forest cats and they've all been very well-balanced and have had great personalities - not to mention ginger cats, who of course have the greatest cattitude of all...!
Hello again Swedeheart. Frankie and Felix both have lovely personalities, although Felix is very laid back, and expects the world to come to him, Frankie has more of the attitude that 'I'm the top cat around here', and Felix lets him get away with it.
My friend has a lovely siamese cat called Casey, and she sent me an e-mail about an article in the Daily Mail newspaper, to cheer me up. It was absolutely amazing.
If you type into google the following -

It's rather long to type in, but it's well worth it. There are some still photos, and about half way down the page there is a video. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Hope you can find it, and hope you enjoy it. Much love. Sheila.

Truly amazing...! ...and a reminder that they really are wild animals. I laughed at one of the comments: blimey, my cat has trouble clawing her way up onto my bed!
BTW Schutz as you probably noticed your link became clickable when you posted it, but the next time you come across a non-clickable link there's no need to type it into Google, just copy it and paste it into the URL field/address bar of whatever page you happen to be viewing at the moment, hit ENTER and there you are. It's all explained in this here tutorial, have a look "your computer enjoyment will sky rocket" ha ha!
