I think it is very touching of you to ask after Pickle, especially as you are going through a very difficult time yourself now.
Pickle has been transferred from the local mental health Unit,to a Mental Hospital(yes there are still some around).
I hope he will come out soon, but where he is is a (previously) victorian asylum, and not very nice, even though the staff ARE excellent.
The ECT didn't really do much good (in my opinion) and he just sits and stares, but this may (hopefully) pass soon.
I will pass on your good wishes,I know he enjoyed meeting people on AB,and so it may give him a link to a bit of reality.
Take Care, and things WILL get better with time.

Thanks Alec. It sounds as if there is at least a bit of improvement, and hopefully he may be home soon. Someone else sent Mr. Pickle their love, but I don't think you saw the post. I'll try to find it, and let you know who it was, as Mr. Pickle needs all the love and encouragement possible at present. Schutz.
Mr V and Schutzengel - sorry to butt in.
Mr V - Whoever Mr Pickle is it would appear that he is somebody close to you.
I have been at the "sitting and staring" stage a couple of times whand have found the way back to the "chatty and annoying" stage again - it is a long journey that has to be made in short steps. I know that mental health problems still have a stigma attached to them - but this is changing.
Best wishes
Susan - 3am, feeding a cat who was 'starving' and his stupid sister.

Mr Pickle is 'in a pickle'? It took me long enough to work that out (if it is right).
Like me he has bipolar disorder. I haven't had any really awful episodes for a couple of years - in fact I am off to see the psychiatrist this afternoon.
You are much more thoughtful than me Shut - if somebody disappears from AB I have been known to forget about them.
I found that volunteering at our Oxfam book shop really helps - they are really nice people.
I better go and get the shrink visit over with - the high point of my afternoon! Not sure how sensible it is to leave the battling feline siblings alone though.
PS my spellcheck tried to change Oxfam to orgasm - I wish!
