Every year our pond becomes absolutely infested with tadpoles. I just noticed this morning that they have actually started eating the fish. I didn't know they did this and was quite horrified. I have tried to rescue the worst victim, but can't catch it, and don't really have anywhere else to put it. I can't get rid of the tadpoles as there are thousands of them.
What can I do? Can anyone help? Even the poor newts are disgusted.

Are you sure they're actually eating the fish?

My guess here, as I've never heard of taddies attacking fish before, is that you're fish has parasites on them and it's these that are attracting the taddies or that the fish have loose scales and again, it's these that they're after.

It's worth checking out the health of your fish before you do anything drastic to the future froggies!

Thanks for your help. I think you're probably right, that the fish is poorly, it's just that the tadpoles kept swarming all over it's sore bits so it looked as if they were eating the poor thing alive. Off to the pet shop to see if I can buy something.
