aggresive puppy
I am looking after a 1 year old jack russell for a few months, he has been teased by youngsters & is sometimes rather snappy I would like to cure him of this as he is lovely pup & gets on well with my 2 dogs.any ideas on how to train him to stop

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.By being very gentle but firm. Turn your back on him if he misbehaves. Never hit or shout, that will make matters much worse. Always reward good behaviour and as far as is possible ignore bad. Do not let him feel that he is top dog. Stand tall and don't make eye contact to let him know his place. Perseverance and patience is probably all you need but remember that any bad behaviour is usually the fault of the owner rather than the pup. Have lots of fun with him.

BUT this little chap will have to learn that not all people are nasty to dogs. is the pup going back to the youngsters who tease him? I hope not. In the mean time the thing to do is to teach him that people are LOVELY and also fragile so gentle approach and play gets a treat, rough approach gets a yelp from you (which is what a litter mate would do) and a dose of ignoring.
