http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/beauty/artic le-1201047/Victory-Linford-Christies-niece-bla ck-Miss-England.html Yet another mile stone for the Black population 'The first Black Miss England'.
Why this preoccupation with the colour of the skin? We are constantly told the colour of one's skin should not matter, but at every opportunity for a 'FIRST' it is forever highlighted.
On a personal choice however I don't think Miss Rachel Christie, deserved her title, not because she was Black, but because she was not very pretty, and also by the very fact that she was not the public's choice,.she had gained only nine votes in the public voting part of the competition, compared with fellow finalist Zoiey Smale, who got 2,013.
Incidentally the contestant who came second in the contest, Katrina Hodge, was in my opinion a much more glamorous Miss England and a serving soldier to boot.
