My friend is holding a small event at her home (in the garden). There will be 6 children and approx 20 adults. They will be having a fun day, a bit like a sports day. They are worried that they may need insurance. Does it exist? If so does anyone know who the best insurance people would be to go with. Many thanks.

If this is just a private social gathering it would probably be covered under the Public Liability of her home insurance. tel her to speak to her home Buildings/Contents insurer.

Many thanks.xx.
For a private event, you won't need insurance unless things like inflatables are used - bouncy castles, water shoots. slides, etc., but if these are hired, the company will have insurance for this.
Just because it is a private event doesnt mean you cannot be sued if something goes wrong - make sure you do at least have some Public Liability cover.
