my dog has just come in the house avoiding walking on his back leg, he couldnt even lie down as it wasnt very comfertable for him. we lay him down and checked the whole of his leg, moving it around, squeezing it and checking his pads. then after about 15 minutes his foot has swollen but he can now walk on it. what do i do?? the vets arent open. we live with other dogs but i cant see any bite marks. what has caused this? thanx in advance

could be lots of things including a sting or insect bite - lots of wasps about just now - can't hurt to bathe it in warm water though - if he is now putting weight on the foot it suggests an improvement of sorts. Good luck

what would bathing it in warm water do?? and thank you for your answer
it will allow you to see if anything is going on there - it surprising what more you can see when you you wet the area - also it's soothing for the animal (obviously stop it if your dog shows signs of pain) and just may wash out anything causing the problem. let us now what happens. good luck
even 'let us know'!
