cat weeing all over carpet

One of my three cats is weeing all over my carpet, when i seem to get them to stop in one place they just move to another. Any suggestions on how to stop this, aside from locking them out of the house??

Yes, I would also like answers to the above questions. Cats are naturally very clean animals and there is often a medical reason for this type of behaviour. Cystitis perhaps? You say only one cat isdoing it but you then refer to getting 'them' to stop and 'they' just move. Are you sure only one is offending? May be you need more litter trays or bigger litter trays?
