I am so fed up with my cleaner not doing a good job of picking up.! I have two dogs, both rough collies, so a lot of fur long and short. My cleaner is not picking it up. Would like to hear of outher owners with pets.

Don't have a pet but I do have the best cleaner in the world. It's a Miele and the suction is unbelievable .the suction is controlled by a six position switch and I've never used numbers 5 & 6, theyr'e just too powerful ! Miele make a model especially for pet hair, I think the model is S516

We recently borrowed a Henry to clean up after some DIY and it is was brilliant - would have thought that it would be a great everyday vacuum cleaner but I think they only come with the pole bit which I supposed could be a bit of a pain (but the ordinary Henry's are only about £90 which seems quite a bargain)
I have 3 dogs and a cat and have tried Henrys', Dyson and Miele and the Miele is much the best - really good suction and several strong settings. I bought a Dyson a while back because a friend who also has dogs was very happy with hers but mine was very disappointing - it really didn't seem to pick up much at all.
fantastic....strong suction, no bags - sucks up everything/anything, alyx hoover

with apologies to Iilacben, this is for scotman.I have a large rug, approximately 8'x4'. If the cleaner is set on 5 or 6 it's quite capable of lifting the rug off the floor, impressive but not practical. A setting of 2 is sufficient to clean the rug. I believe Miele's video shows it's not only capable of lifting pets hair,it can lift the pet as well.
