Just read a terrible story in an expat publication. A black labrador bitch was hung from a tree and left to die slowly from exhaustion and asphyxiation whilst she tried desperately to free herself. Her pup was found a couple of miles away in a terrible state, and it is the opinion of the local police that the pup witnessed the death of its mother, and managed to escape the evil clutches of the person or persons who perpetrated this sick crime. They published the photo of the poor dog as she was found, which I wish to God I hadn't seen. I cannot get the image out of my head. What goes through peoples' heads when they inflict such unimaginable cruelty on a defenceless animal?

IMO they should suffer the same cruelty they inflicted on the poor dog.

It's a little A5-sized mag called Out & About - Costa Blanca. Issue No. 64.

It doesn't say who the perpetrators were, just that it had been found in the commercial zone of Denia.

I remember watching a documentary once about people who do this sort of thing. Nine times out of ten they go on to do the same thing to human beings. I think Jamie Bulger's killers may have been mentioned.

But what does the law do when they're caught and convicted for animal cruelty? Gives them a fine, a cso and oh, wonder of wonder, a ban on keeping animals! Like that's going to stop them! Perhaps if such crimes were taken a little more seriously then those who commit them wouldn't get to reach the higher levels of depravity that makes them kill equally innocent children.

I cannot imagine the unconscionable individuals who inflicted this suffering have any emotion of human or animal life.
