We've been lucky to adopt an 8 week old miniature Schnauzer, and would just like some advice on schedules for treatments (i.e. injections/wormings/de-fleaing) and also training tips for toilet and feeding times, from people who have tested methods. Any suggestions are gratefully received, thanks in advance.

You say 'adopt' so have you not bought the puppy from a breeder? Either way, I would take to the vet at your earliest opportunity for a check over, who will advise you on injections, worming and de fleaing. An 8 week old puppy will need to be fed four times a day, I do two meat meals which could be a complete puppy diet that has been softened with warm water, and two milky meals of weetabix, rice pudding or scrambled egg, and they usually go to three meals at around 16 weeks or sometimes a little earlier, and two meals at 6 months.

As for toilet training, Puppy will need to be taken outside as soon as he/she wakes up, and you should wait with him/her using a word you are comfortable with to associate the action, and make loads and loads of fuss when puppy performs. Also every hour or so when they are playing, and always immediately after food, and when puppy is sniffing 'with intent'!

Good luck
Not sure if this will give you some advice
