waller waller cat's meat, eat brown bread, I saw a sausage drop down dead....
think it's from the music halls of the 30's, but not really sure. My elderly aunt suggests some of the words might have been changed, as the song was sung to us when we were children.

They don't write 'em like that anymore!!!

Sorry, no idea I'm afraid, good luck in your quest though.
The words I learnt were:

I tiddly I-tie eat brown bread
I saw a sausage fall down dead
Up jumped a savaloy and hit him on the head
I tiddly I-tie eat brown bread

I think I heard it on an early edition of Sesame Street or something similar - something American anyway.
Sausage= 'Browncoat'
Saveloy= 'Redcoat'
British history?

My father sang a song which I think the boys in his convalescent home in Dartford in 1921 had adapted - it shares some lyrics with a song sung by Everton and Queen of the South supporters sang, according to my Google research. My father's version went:

"We are the K-block boys, we are the K-block boys; we know our manners, we spend our tanners, we are respected wherever we go; we go marching down the Old Kent Road, doors and windows open wide; i-tiddly-iti eat brown bread, ever see a sausage fall down dead, we are the K-block boys!
