cancer ? As our Lucky cat is having chemo once a week and
also steroids ...the vet said that if it works she will go in to
remission and hopefully live another 5/6 years ...she is such
a character but has now lost her voice , as she was a well vocal
cat ...so I want to know if it works as well in cats as in humans .....

Personally, I would not accept chemotherapy for myself so I certainly wouldn't put my cat through it. I have seen members of my family go through it, that was enough for me.
I'm sorry, but I agree. I wouldn't put a cat through it.

At least a human knows why they are suffering and has a choice.

thanks for that , but she has had 3 lots and is doing ok
and eating etc ...just thought there might be a cat person
out there who has been through it .

Glad your cat is doing well, only.
I've just re-read my response and I think it came across as a little terse; sorry.

If Lucky was really sick we would put her to sleep
but at the moment she's doing really well ...lots of
tuna to put her meds in ...she thinks it's xmas come
early ...thanks ....
hope your cat gets on really well ,good luck

theonlyone,
I personally think you know your cat better than anyone and as long as you know that that lucky is not in any pain and she is doing well then stick with it, My dad died of cancer and my best friend has a very bad case of breast cancer she had loads of nasty chemo for around six months and they told her that she would feel so bad and not be able to get out of bed, suprisingly the chemo never made her feel bad at all ( just tired) ,
Everyone should try options open to them as the affects are not the same for everyone, I wish you all the best of luck with Lucky and hopefully it will work,( Chemo does make you have a soar/dry throat so that may be why she is not very vocal)

The vet seems to think that she has removed all the tumour
from her throat , so the chemo is to kill off any cancer that's
left , and steroids to build her up ,many thanks for all the replies,
I'll keep everything crossed for a happy outcome for your puss, T'only. As someone else has said, I'm sure you'll know if she's had enough. All the best. xxx
