Cluster Flies
Hi, over the past few days, we have been getting these huge black flies in the house. Obviously in this weather they haven't come from outside. Someone said they were Cluster Flies, which I believe nest in attics.
A few weeks ago, we had a rat in the cupboard under the stairs, which died, so I'm assuming the flies have come from either that one or possibly there could be other bodies under the floorboards. This problem is very annoying and I am very phobic about flies, the sheer idea they have been festering in faecal matter or dead bodies horrifies me, plus there is the concern about hygiene.
We have sprayed lots of Fly Killer under the stairs, but these things are hatching at different times, so we are seeing random ones and aren't entirely sure where they are coming from, they are only downstairs, but will come up if there is no light downstairs.
Has anyone else had this problem and how have you dealt with it? Are there products which don't need to be sprayed? I'm concerned about my baby breathing in fumes.
Thanks
