If you are out at work all day they will be company for each other, and they are so much more fun when they play together. I have twice got 2 kittens from the Cats Protection League, who do a lot of good work and always have kittens to rehome. They only ask for a small donation and they will need to do a home check but this is very quick. Amazingly, 2 kittens are actually less work than 1 and they will be much happier (as it's quite traumatic for an 8-week old kitten to be taken from its mum and siblings and cope with a new environment)
