I've done that snipe thingy that a few (like B00) told me about on ebay, fingers crossed it works, I've resisted showing my hand in the auction and just gone through the snipe site. Actually I'm watching two lots and it's only a day to go, I hope the thing works , it can't be worse than my own previous tactic of putting a maximum bid in!

Thanks ladybird
hi peri, it's this site that you join and it links to ebay somehow and when you tell it what you want to bid on it goes in automatically in the last few seconds and places your bid, i hope it works as these two i am going for are quite rare peices from the range i collect,
And it's called snipe ?
Question Author
oh no it's called Goofbay.con peri sorry!
Question Author

lol i know eddy but the close of the auction will be when i am at work and so i will miss the end, and so for that reason it will hopefully work well for me in this instance
I guess if everyone else is sniping then you have to do the same?
Apart from Goofbay there are others that do the same thing. It must be interesting when they're bidding against each other during the last few seconds.

So, Debbie, what first attracted you to the millionaire Eddie51?

I understand that eddie, I know what these pieces are worth and have put my max bid on the snipe site. It would in a way benefit me to actually artificially start seeing the prices rise consistently, that would possibly make my own pieces and my collection worth more, but then i don't want to start having to pay more for them, and so i am being commercially aware by not paying too much and risking losing the items, it;'s what the bidding is all about i suppose.

I have got everything that I have put on to Goofbay site.

oh excellent grasscarp , I think whoever gave me the link said it was quite successful. Fingers crossed, one o the pieces is quite rare and I have not seen it before and so i am trying to be sensible about my top bid but really hope it's mine that wins!!!

I'm watching an item I desperately want with a day to go as well and so far no biddres so I dont want to practice with this one but ive sent the link to my daughter to practice on my behalf with all the gear she buys.

I waited until 15secs to go to up my bid on something I thought I had in the bag -in fact I knew I had in the bag -only to have the fateful words 'you have been out bid on this item' -I was flabbergasted -I seriously didnt get it but now I do :(

However im just gonna max bid tomorrow at the last minute -no bidders so far but the bidding closes when im at work - aaarrgghh !!!!
Dris, I usually wait till the very last 60 seconds! Finger on button lol!
