boxtops, I don't think insurance will cover a pregnancy/birth as it is looked upon as a deliberate act by the owners (getting the bitch pregnant).
I think this should be pointed out more to people as I suppose that many will do it thinking it is OK as the bitch is insured or the PDSA scheme will help out.
What does surprise me is that she eventually got taken to a vet - wonder how many more there are out there that are just left to die?
