My West Highland terrier cross keeps rubbing or scratching the sides of his mouth down towards his nose. can anybody tell me what could be wrong with him if anything?.

sore mouth, stuck food, excema, fleas, hay fever, is the skin red or sore, is there food stuck round his mouth? what does the inside of his mouth and gums look like? If hes not a happy chappy why not take him in to see the vet?

No redness or any other symptons you mention and she's the happiest dog in the world, I thought it might be something simple as we are new to dogs, I will take your advice and take her to the vet. Thanks for taking the time to answer wolfgang.
no trouble. I understand that westies have tendency to allergies and itchy skin problems...if you are new to having a dog then better safe than sorry, these things are easier dealt with before they take hold.
Possibly gum infection or a bad tooth.
