is it likely that the foxes in my garden could give my cat fleas, and more importantly, mange ?

I asked my vet about my cat catching mange from foxes and he said it wouldn`t happen. Different species.
Fleas though, is possible - as the eggs/larva can lurk around waiting for a warm blooded beastie - including you - to walk by. Is your puss flea-treated? I didn't know my long-ago cat had fleas until she left home, they started popping out of trhe carpet each time I walked by....!

Yes he has Stronghold every six weeks or so. I don't like to give it to him too often (you don't know if there are any side effects) but when he starts licking his paws and running around like a maniac, I know he has fleas running up his legs, so on it goes. He hates the smell, but it has to be done.
