Is my dog insane!?!?!
6 Answers
Most people who have met my 20 week old Jack Russell have agreed with me that he is (to put it bluntly) Stupid! He is an absolute nutter! he has a room underneath the stairs in which he sleeps and stays when i go out. whenever i come back, the floor is covered in pee (which i admit, is fair enough considering he is so young and not yet fully trained) but the worst thing of all is he has managed to get pee on the top of his head on multiple occasions!!!! I am really confused at how he does it. :-/ this is not all, he jumps off the sofa in attempt to jump on to the footstool thing which is half the size of the sofa and he still misses and falls on to the floor! :-/ He sometimes tries to run through glass doors and looks up at you afterwards as if to say... 'Who put that there?'..... should i be worried about his lack of common sense or is it a common thing in Jack Russells, we have another jack Russell and he was not the same when he was this age.

We've had a couple of dogs, one taken on as an adult who took time to learn about glass doors, we stuck bits of fablon on the patio doors so that they could see there was something there which soon sorted that out. Once the dog has got the idea, then gradually take off the bits of fablon, the marks clean off with window cleaner.

My old dog was a total mong. Seriously this dog was the stupidest thing on four legs.
A couple of examples of Toxy's idiocy.
We had a brick wall with a wooden gate at the bottom of our garden. When birds perched on the gate Toxy realised that by throwing himself headfirst into the gate the birds would fly off. The birds soon realised this and started perching on the brick wall instead. It took Toxy about 6 months of headbutting the wall before he realised that the sparrows and starlings were actually laughing at him
Another time, he got stuck in the front room. Rather than barking to be let out he dug and chewed through a wooden door so that he could get through. We were all sat in the kitchen and Toxy comes strolling through looking like he worked in a timber mill!
I loved that dog

maybe he is being left for too long - on his own... Its important to try and avoid this with a puppy..
Can you take him to work? Or get home at lunch to see him?? Or get someone to pop in and fuss over him - letting him out for a wee....
Plenty of people offer this service for dog owners who work...
You do need to try and correct the problem - or else you could have problems for years!
good luck
