The collared dove chicks have gone! One went yesterday morning and the other just went i think, i heard some commotion so went to look and it looked like it flying away. So the precarious nest stayed together, probably from all the poo.

Have you ever had an animal nesting near you, and watched them grow, its only been about ten days since they hatched and they look really fat with still a tiny bit of fluff.

Yep. Every year a bird nested in the side of my house. Don't know what type. Use to sit in the garden watching mother bird teaching them how to fly. Mother bird would fly from the house to the wall...followed one by one by the chicks...then to the tree...then to the other wall...back to the tree....back to the nest.

awwww, we didn't see the first one but just now looked like the mum and fat baby.
Where we went on holiday, there were baby peacocks. They grew fast in the week we were there, the mother bird was very protective of them.
Yes .. From this window, I see a local Greater Spotted Woodpecker feeding a young one, not to mention the Blackbird's nest 15M away.
