brown marks on jug

i got what looked like a nice little blue and white jug from a charity shop, convinced that the brown marks all down one side would wash off, but they won't, it looks to me that it has been standing in strong sun for years, i tried fading the marks with lemon juice, it did fade a bit but is still quite bad, does anyone know what else i can try please.

Salt takes marks off -worth a try.

try soaking the whole jug in a bowl of water with plenty of bicarbonate of sode dissolved in it, might to the trick. Worth a try.
