The Urine test (This was written by Paul Watson a fireman - What he says makes a lot of sense!)

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to earn my monthly pay, I work on a fire station for the Fire and Rescue Service, I am required to pass a urine test for drugs and alcohol at my three yearly medical, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a benefits cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.

I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their backsides drinking beer and smoking dope.

Could you imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque?

i don't see his point to be honest. Why would people on benefits need to pass a urine test for drugs? Surely it is important that a fireman is not on drugs however?

Loads of people on benefits spend the money on booze and drugs. So yes...I sorta agree.

No. Part of my tax money goes on education but I don't expect school children to pass an entrance exam because I had to do one to get my job.

I agree. I once saw a poster in a local jobcentre which basically said. Are you on heroin or crack cocaine and looking for work, if so call this number for help and advice. Sums it up for me.

If that's his biggest problem, he isn't doing bad.

I didn't think you paid tax Molly? It's up to the individual how to use their money. Most buy food, some buy drugs. Their choice.

Benefits wouldn't buy many drugs Molly. Considering a gram of coke is nearly the same price as weekly benefits.

Can you imagine the rise in the crime rate, if all who failed a drug and booze urine test had their benefits stopped.?

i am only on pain meds right now and I can barely function normally.

Ummmm is right though Molly - £65 a week won't get you very far on the drug front!

Plus i saw a programme where someone admitted to having more and more children because they needed the money and didn't want to get a job or cared that people are wasting taxes on them.

APPARANTLY, ecstacy is something like a couple of pound per tablet.

Many people are like that Molly and it is a problem but I fail to see why they need a urine sample?
