Three fledgling owls appeared from roof tiles last night....now I have four owls leering at me. Have to sneak around t'other side of house so as not to frighten them.

Can't use my car as they're perched next to it. Dogs being kept in - they're not happy :)

They are Tawny Owls tamborine, nice amusing neighbours for you to study for the time being ! Have fun :=-)

The link you gave me resembled Tawny Owls as there are no Barred Owls in UK.
The other link was for Little Owls which are a fair bit shorter than the Tawny. It will be fun watching them fledge......
Question Author
am worried about magpies.....they've taken the pigeon chicks & are eyeing up the owls.
If it's little owls then there may be a problem with the Magpies, Tawny Owls are bigger and can handle Magpie aggro.......
I love owls, (you would never guess by my avatar!!)
Please keep us posted on what happens
Question Author
they're a bit bigger than magpies but the magpies attack in gangs. The space in tiles looks tiny but have seen the owls use it.

Should I let the dog chase off the magpies ?
If they are bigger than magpies then they are probably Tawny owls as Little Owls are only about 25cm tall
Question Author
25cms is about right.....had to work that out in inches = 10"
Question Author
wot name for midget owls ? - lol
Looked that up in my Owl book, I usually work in inches, Must be an age thing.
Can you post a picture of them tambourine?
