Mother Osprey is still with us....

Such determination, 60 feet up a Scots Pine tree this morning- and although she is still very poorly, she has been moving round the nest. Dad is feeding the chicks, we all wish she would ask for a bit! The blog from the wardens is very beautiful this morning. I have to go to work, but here is the link for anyone who doesn't have it

The warden says she has to call to Dad and beg when he brings a fish - as the chicks do - for him to actually feed her. Apparently they can go several days (it says on the blog this morning) without food or drink, but the longer it goes the more hard any recovery may become. As seekerz says, we are holding our breath for her.
Oh wow karen, thank you - we came away from the screen for a few minutes, and when we came back, she was gone! The blog is down - presumably overloaded! - that is such good news. She has just flown back - well done Mother! amazing how the babies merge into the nest when there is no parent. This is just amazing - she can fly 60 ft back up into the nest - there is hope yet!
They showed her on the news, she is currently at the water's edge. They spoke to Peter, one of the people doing the blog, and he said she glided down off the nest about half an hour ago and has been drinking some. He said that she may still not recover but that the fluids would do her a lot of good.
I have been watchng this all day. Much better than daytime TV.
At 1:20 pm the male arrived with a fish and fed the chicks (and himself) but not 'Lady' who sat still with her back to him throughout.
I was staggered this evening when she left the nest for the lochside and a drink. Even more staggered when she managed to return to the nest looking brighter and preening herself.
I still have the webcam link (open in a separate window) but cannot access the text/blog entries because of the overload of demand.
Like everyone else, I hope she recovers, but realistically, for a bird of her age, I think this will be the end for a superb example of her species.
