RSPCA - what is the likely hood?

I have just rung the RSPCA because I have just seen a goose walking/stumbling with a broken foot (foot is upside down) and is obviously in pain bless it.

What is the likely hood the goose will get seen to?

I have seen many horrible stories on here about animals suffering and dying because the RSPCA didn't attend.

Poor thing. Last week when I was driving home from a friends house I saw three ducks wadling across the road to get to the reservoir - something about duck that make me laugh. anyway, back to the matter in hand, What did they say to you on the phone? Most likely somebody will try and catch it - and either take it to a vets or have an early Christmas dinner....

If they were not so vicious I would have caught it myself and brought it home then rang them but they are huge. They said they would pass the info on to the local RSPCA and then they would judge whether it needed attention.

Which I think it does seeing as its foot is upside down. Hopefully they will see to it. I shall know because I walk past there often and the same birds are always there.

York is infested with Canada geese.........they need culling.

There are maybe 40 of them near Huntington Road that's all I have seen.

Don't ever try and go to Rowntree Park then Greedy..........the park itself has had to be closed several times so that the crap they leave can be cleaned up before the kiddywinks are allowed in (for health reasons)

behave mrs.........I would never intentionally hurt one but they do create a disgusting mess.........the last time the council mooted a cull there was uproar from the 'save the whatever' brigade.

I am not a huge fan of them but I cannot stand seeing an animal in distress. I would have helped it if I could.

Someone once gave me a recipe for cooking Canada Goose. They can be very tough and dry so need special treatment.
Soak a house brick in water for a couple of hours.
Put the house brick into the cavity of the bird and cook for three hours at 170c.
Remove the brick from the cavity.
Throw the goose away and eat the brick. It will be the tenderest part.

Geese make better guards than dogs!! You can't enter the farm without the geese waddling towards you gabbling away. Spread your arms and walk towards them making a noise, they'll soon shift, but beware if they have goslings, they'll peck any part of you they can reach if they think you're going to harm them!
