Insect that is bugging me

I have only seen this insect a couple of times and only in the last 2 years.  It is winged but it's wing case is coloured and textured like a green leaf.  It is only about an inch in length and width with it legs underneath and central to the body (as opposed to coming out of its sides). And less than 1/2 inch in height.  Best summed of as a peice cut off a very thick leaf.

I've only ever seen it in W. London.  Any ideas ? I have a photo of it taken from my phone if it would help.

That's what i was thinking of, but i've always called it a leaf beetle (obviously wrongly!!)
I live in Northamptonshire, and we get a lot of them here when the weather is warmer.
