My cat has not eaten or drunk for two days

My cat usually eats a lot but was sick a couple of days ago and has not eaten or drunk anything since. Have tried him with a few bits to eat but does not want to know. Seems OK in himself.

Many things can stop an animal from eating, from a sore mouth to more serious causes, an obstruction of the gut. You should take him to the vet just to be sure!

Try tempting him with 'human food' (ie chicken/fish) if you haven't already - warming it up beforehand makes it more palatable!

Less us know what happens!

just like you or me the very sight of food after being sick probably makes him naucious. give him  another day at the most then be sure to call a vet.

I have always thought that if an animal refuses food you should take it to a vet without delay.

Hopefullt he will be ok.  Exactly the same happened to mine a few weeks ago, he was sick and then wouldn't eat for a couple of days.  I was just about to take him to the vets and he just started eating again.

It's probably like someone has already said, after being sick you don't really fancy food much for a while afterwards.
