Our outside cat only ever brought a "present" home once.A tiny little field mouse that it hadn't killed,just carried in his mouth.We managed to take it from him and set it down on the living room floor and put the cat out(don't ask).Outcome was,when mouse recovered its composure it did a wall of death circuit of the living room walls and disappeared up the chimney.We couldn't light the fire for a week in case it was still there.
