My Grandfather (who recently passed away) used to recite the major rivers of Ireland. He was 99 when he died and this came from his schooldays. The ones we can remember are: Shannon, Ban(non), Liffey, Legge, Lee?, Blackwater, Finn? and Foyle. Does anyone else remember being taught this list and can you fill in any gaps?
Many thanks

The Boyne, the Lagan, Upper and Lower Bann.
One of my favourite poems is The Rivers Tale by Rudyard Kipling, about the River Thames. Nothing to do with Ireland, just thought I'd mention it..... ok I'll shut the door on me way out.....
