Scaredy Cat

On Friday night my idiot father let the cat out but didn't bother to get him back in before he went to bed so the poor cat was stuck out all night in freezing temperatures. He hasn't left the house since then. He has hardly used his litter tray so I'm worried he's holding it all in. Should I try and tempt him outside?

Cats look calm and laid back but are easily freaked out or stressed. He will hold out as long as he can but I think that he will probably use the litter tray.

If he isn't used to being out all night it must have been awful for him - I hope that you have managed to make your dad feel bad about what he did? If I did that to one of my two I don't think that they would ever speak to me again - maybe even attack me!

I was so angry with him. He certainly got the message.

The cat doesn't really like the cold anyway so it's not hard to get him in when it's cold, you just have to call his name or give his treats a little shake and he bolts in. Hopefully he'll give in and use his tray today - or Dad's bed. :o)

You could try locking your dad in the cold - bet he wouldn't like it.

My two are refusing to get out of bed today, Frankie dashed off to the litter tray earlier and then came back into the bedroom. I can't imagine him or his sister enjoying the cold at all - at this time of year being an indoor cat is enjoyable.

Tinkerbella has developed velcro paws everytime I have the temerity to suggest she needs to go out...its my fleecy blanket and I'm not letting go housemate has even moved the litter tray so she doesn't have to go into an unheated room to use it.. spoiled little madam
