aaah bless...

I dont know is the answer to your question.. but I DO know that a cat can give another cat a cold... as my two did.. Saff had a cold.. and sneezed a lot.. then about 3 days later had stopped and Harvey Pickles started little sneezes too!
Bless
cats can suffer ailments just like humans. I had a cat a few years ago that lost his meow and it was because he had tonsilitis. He soon recovered after some antibiotics
from the vet and some tlc from me.

Aw i hope its not tonsilitis :-| antibiotics would cost a bomb at our vet, poor Sooty :(
No, they can't catch a human cold, but they certainly can catch cold like viruses and cat flu from other cats, especially at this time of the year.

Thanks Lottie.. i don't feel as bad now. I hope it is just a cold and it passes :)
Erin, I have had lots of cats over the years and they have often lost their voices. Don't worry too much. If she is vaccinated, she should be safe from cat flu which can be very serious.

I would keep her in though during this very cold weather (if she lets you!)

Shes actually a house cat! lol.. thats why i thought she had maybe caught it from me. Maybe should have mentioned it. She likes to sit at the vent under the radiator though!
Whatever she has can you bottle it and send it north? If Frankie doesn't shut up soon he will be throttled.

Maybe I will put him outside - it is supposed to be -16 tonight.
She may not have a cold at all - perhaps she has scratched her throat or something - it happens. We had a ginger cat (a blind cat) who was virtually house bound and he often lost his voice. The cat I have now is very vocal and often loses hers too through overuse I think!! She drives us mad as she 'talks' all day and is only quiet when she is asleep!!
Perhaps Frankie and Alice (my cat) should get together Wolf!! They could talk to each other all day!!

The overuse sounds like a probable cause actually.. she never shuts up lol! Aw poor Frankie :( you better hope he's not been watching the flintstones or you might end up outside yourself Wolf! haha
Merlin (Frankie's sister) rarely makes a noise and when she does it is just "eek" or "whooo", the latter being used when she had thrown herself off the top landing in what looks like a suicide bid.

erin-x my two are indoor thugs too and since we spend so much time with them I think that we notice all the little things that go wrong. Frankie barfs up a bit in the mornings which is probably due to him speed-eating his food. If he was outside I would never notice.

LL - Alice is a nice name for a lady cat. Princess Merlin beats him up quite a bit so I think that he is 'off women' just now. She is really nice to him when his asthma is bad and he is looking and acting pathetic.
