The question about holidays

reminded me of being in the hairdressers! I have a phobia about going and would rather visit the dentist than the hairdresser. I cut my hair myself now with dog trimming scissors, because I used to get so stressed and would snap at anyone who mentioned my haircut.
Could never make an appointment, would only have it done if they could fit me in straight away so I couldn't get out of it. When I did go I was struck dumb not being able to tell them how I wanted it, just gripping the arms of the chair under the cape and thinking pleeeeease don't cut that bit! I think there is a word for being phobic about hairdressers.

Lankeela, know what you mean, I hate going to the hairdresser too!........have to go on the spur of the moment when I feel brave enough! which isn't often..........don't know the name of this phobia though!

I think they have special mirrors too - where everything low down looks terrible but higher up things look great. It's the only way I can figure out how the hairdressers always look so good while I look like a bag of dirty laundry....

Thats the one Naz! Elvis, I was barking mad before I started using the dog scissors! Perhaps thats what made me snap...
