Hi all, plz help me with my coursework im stuck big time!!
I need to include in my assignment how animal immune system works to combat foot and mouth disease.
I have written about the disease and that slaughter is the usual way to deal with it, but it specifically asks for details about the immune resonse and i cant find the info anywhere.

To build up immunity to any disease the subject has to be inoculated with a mild form of the disease or part thereof. The animal itself builds up anti-bodies to that disease using the vaccine as a marker. The trouble with FMD is that there are so many variants and the vaccine has to be of the specific strain that the immunity is needed for.
