I have a 6 year old Westie with a skin disorder. It's appears on his chest and is black in colour and gets flaky after a couple of days. I've had him at the Vet who has given him a steroid injection and some tablets but this skin problems appears back when a couple of days after tablets are finished. I've tried putting some dermatological skin cream on but unfortunatley it doesn't work. Changing his diet doesn't work either. Please help

ask the vet about cortavance spray. You use it on the affected areas and it doesn't have the side effects of cortisone tabs as it is metabolised on the site of application.
Unfortunately Westies are very prone to skin problems...try him on some oil of evening primrose capsules, a vet told me about these years ago and it worked for my dog like a treat, cleared up in no time....good luck...
I would be inclined to try evening primrose oil and possibly Quistel and/or Dermadine shampoo.

Oh no, cole, sorry to hear that! Westies are my favourite breed of dog, and would have one if my friend would let me, but his dog would get in the way. I do not know what to do, but would suggest going to a vet, as that is what they are there for.
