So Labours ASBOs are to be scrapped, only to be replaced with confiscations.

It is reported that Yobs will have their iPods, stereos and other status symbols confiscated by police under new powers announced today, will that also include their obligatory 'Pit Bull Terriers'?

Getting the work shy back to work, cracking down on benefit cheats and now this, when are all these marvellous and popular measures going to take place?

All the less popular measures seem to be implemented the very next day almost.

the confiscation idea might work, even if only to boost the economy. confiscate their goods, they go and nick them off someone else, then those people go and buy replacements. at least dsgi's share price will take a boost, so perhaps cameron is thinking of his old pal lord kalms.

i completely agree with you, asbos are collected as a trophy to show status. im not sure if confiscation will work, may just give them more anumition to cause more trouble.. personally i think harder consequences should be bought in as a deterrent. as way too many people people young and older are getting away with far too much

thats just it, and its because of human rights that we are in this mess. prisons are not really prisons any more, so even if they do have to do time, its not a real punishment due to these rights. 3 hot meals a day, sky tv. computer games. most people have a better quality of life locked up than they do out of it. and this is supposed to punish people???

The more i think about this the more ridiculous it gets, they are going to confiscate ipods etc ? what if the scumbag doesnt already have an ipod etc ?
